CALL TO WORSHIP
Come as you are, hear the story of hope. Discover again God who is with us on our journey, who leads our feet along new pathways.
God of dreams and visions renew our vision. Put a spring in our feet as we set our face towards the Cross, the way in store for us.
We begin this season of Lent, a season of honest reflection and a season of courageous acknowledgement of the ways we are tempted to turn from trust in God.
We come with eyes open, ready to face the snares and pitfalls that threaten to capture us away from our trust in God.
May the gift of grace surround us on our way.
HYMN: 693 “Come as You Are”
PRAYER OF INVOCATION
God of grace and God of glory, be known to us in every moment.
With You as guide and compass, we cannot go astray.
Give us the wisdom and strength to answer each temptation with confident trust in Your word. Turn us constantly to the good and renew us continually with Your steadfast love.
We put our trust in You. Our hearts, turned to You, find wisdom of Your ways. Amen!
HYMN: 665 “Jesus Christ is Waiting”
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
We cannot live our lives in silence or hide away our guilty feelings.
Silence and secrecy hold the guilt in. We waste away with groaning.
We are invited to bring ourselves out into the open space of God’s loving kindness; to seek the light of God’s forgiveness so that we might be free of the enclosure of regret and shame and know joy.
Merciful God, draw near to us in the grace of Jesus Christ as we confess those things that have turned us from You.
Let us find abiding acceptance and renewed hope in our ability to live as people freed by love
Silence.
We pray that You will save us, Lord in the time of trial – those times when we are ready to turn from the way of love.
In all that we do and all that we are, we remember Your claim upon us. Your love surrounds us, and we are free indeed. Amen!
WORDS OF ASSURANCE
The rush of mighty waters, waves of guilt and shame, can no longer reach us, because God is our shelter and our hope.
We are freed by the love of God and in the gift of grace in Jesus Christ to live open, joyful lives. So, I can declare before you today that our sins are forgiven. Thanks be to God.

THE LORD’S SUPPER
Blessed are You, Lord, God of all creation. Through Your goodness we have this bread to offer which earth has given and human hands have made. It will become for us the bread of life.
Blessed be God forever.
Blessed are You. Lord, God of all creation. Through Your goodness we have this cup to offer, fruit of the vine and work of human hands. It will become for us our spiritual drink.
Blessed be God forever.
Eternal God, let Your Spirit come upon Your holy people, and may He sanctify these gifts of bread and wine.
As we share these holy things, may we be nourished and grow in grace to Your honour and glory, through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
MEMORIAL PRAYER
Holy God, with this bread and with this cup, we do as our Saviour has commanded; we celebrate the redemption He has won for us.
For as often as we eat this bread and drink from this cup, we proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.
Receive our praise, God almighty, through Jesus Christ our Lord, with whom and in whom by the power of the Holy Spirit, we worship You in songs of never-ending praise:
Blessing, honour, glory and power are Yours forever and ever. Amen.
BREAKING THE BREAD
The bread we break is a sharing of the body of Christ.
The cup we take is sharing in the blood of Christ.
Take in faith this Holy Sacrament of the body and the blood of Christ in remembrance that He died for you, and feed on Him in your hearts with thanksgiving.
HYMN: 504 “O Jesus, Blessed Lord, to You”
DISMISSAL
We thank You our God that You have fed us with this sacrament, united us with Christ, and given us a foretaste of the heavenly banquet prepared for all humanity.
Loving God, we offer ourselves to You as a living sacrifice through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Send us out in the power of the Holy Spirit to live and work to Your praise and glory. Amen!
