CALL TO WORSHIP

The world belongs to God, the earth and all its people.

How good and how lovely it is to live together in unity.

If the Lord’s disciples keep silent these stones would shout aloud.

Lord, open our lips and our mouths shall proclaim Your praise.

Come, Let us worship God.

OPENING PRAYER

Almighty God, to whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hidden: cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiring of Your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love You, and worthily magnify Your holy name; through Christ our Lord. Amen!

INVOCATION

Come to us, O God of surprising grace. Break into the places in our lives which we think are not worthy of Your entry and show us the measure of Your love for us. Break through into newness in all our life together, O God, in the wonder of Your transforming presence. Amen!

How lovely is Your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty!

My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young— a place near Your altar,

O Lord Almighty, my King and my God.

Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; they are ever praising You.

Blessed are those whose strength is in You, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.

THE LORD’S PRAYER

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

God of mercy and grace, we confess that when temptation has come our way we have often failed to meet its challenge. We have strayed from what we know to be right. We have taken the easy way instead of the way that leads to life. We have sought our own security in mere possessions, status, and wealth instead of placing our trust in You.

Forgive us, we pray, in the name of Jesus. Amen!

WORDS OF ASSURANCE

God “does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His steadfast love toward those who fear Him; as the east is from the west, so far he removes our transgressions from us”.

(Psalm 103:10-12)

APOSTLES’ CREED

I believe in God, the Father almighty,

     creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord,

     who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

     born of the Virgin Mary,

     suffered under Pontius Pilate,

     was crucified, died, and was buried;

     He descended to the dead.

     On the third day He rose again;

     He ascended into heaven,

     He is seated at the right hand of the Father,

     and He will come to judge the living and the dead.

HEARING GOD’S WORD

Thank You, Father, for making Yourself known to us and showing us the way of salvation through faith in Your Son. Teach us through Your word and equip us for every good work, for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!

SENDING OUT AND BENEDICTION

Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and for evermore. Amen!
