CALL TO WORSHIP
It is good to praise the Lord and make music to Your name, O Most High, to proclaim Your love in the morning and Your faithfulness at night, to the music of the ten-stringed lyre and the melody of the harp. For You make me glad by Your deeds, O Lord; I sing for joy at the works of Your hands.
How great are Your works, O Lord, how profound Your thoughts!
The senseless man does not know, fools do not understand.
But You, O Lord, are exalted forever. (Psalm 92:1-8)
Dear beloved, what is your source of comfort and encouragement?
Our help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.
With joy receive these words of greeting from God: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen!
HYMN: 134 “Praise, My Soul, the King of Heaven”
RESPONSIVE READING FOR NEW YEAR – He Makes All Things New
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. (1 Peter 1:3)
Praise the Lord. Sing to the Lord a new song, praise Him in the assembly of His faithful people. (Ps 149:1)
See, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind. (Isa 65:17)
In keeping with His promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. (2 Peter 3:13)
You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. (Eph. 4:22-24)
For we know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin. (Romans 6:6)
A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As Jesus has loved you, so you must love one another. (John 13:34-35)
Be my rock of refuge, to which I can always go; give the command to save me, for You are my rock and my fortress. (Psalm 71:3)
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. (Isa 43:19)
Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. (Psalm 96:1)

HYMN: 538 “Feed Us Now, Bread of Life”
THE INVITATION and WORDS OF CONSECRATION
Dear friends, the Lord has prepared His table for all who love Him and trust Him alone for their salvation. All who are truly sorry for their sins, who sincerely believe in the Lord Jesus as their Saviour, and who desire to live in obedience to Him, are now invited to take with gladness from the table of the Lord.
On the night of His betrayal, Jesus took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it and gave it to His disciples, saying: “Take, eat, this is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me”.
In like manner, after supper He took the cup. And when He had given thanks, He gave it to them, saying: “Drink of this, for this is My blood of the New Covenant which is shed for you and for many, for remission of sins; do this as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me”.
BREAKING THE BREAD
We break this bread and take this cup, God’s gifts for God’s people.
COMMUNION
Take and eat. This is the body of Christ broken for you.
Take and drink. This is the blood of Christ which was shed for you.
PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION
We thank You, Lord, that You have fed us in this sacrament, united us with Christ, and given us a foretaste of the heavenly banquet prepared for all people. Amen!
HYMN: 47 “Our God Our Help in Ages Past”
