CHURCH COUNCIL REPORT
We are pleased that Krikor is taking 3 weeks of much deserved leave in October. Krikor had a double workload in September, taking services at both Longueville and Willoughby Armenian church. He will attend the Armenian Missionary Associations Annual Meeting in New Jersey, USA. The AMAA has decided to award its District Committees/Branches. As such, Krikor and Dee are invited as guests. Also, they will be visiting their daughter Lori in New York where she has a scholarship to study for her Masters in Journalism. During their stay they will celebrate birthdays and anniversaries with the family, as well as Krikor will conduct his nephew’s daughter and niece’s son’s Baptisms. They plan to drive from New Jersey to Montreal, Canada, to visit Dee’s relatives. We wish them a safe trip. They will return on 27 October.
We are delighted to welcome back Bob Minton, who will be taking services at St. Andrew’s while Krikor is away.
At our combined service with Lane Cove UC on 18 September $1350 was raised for Frontier Services. The annual BBQ is a welcome get together of the two congregations. The day began well with Krikor and Rick entering the church in Akubra hats! Bangers on the BBQ were followed by ice creams. All the fathers were honoured, a belated Father’s Day tribute. Each received a gift of wine and chocolate. There was a trivia quiz, mainly about the work of the outback Chaplains, one question stumped many – who are the leaders of the Federal and State National Party?
We have almost reached our target of $3,000 to support the Demirchian family in Artsakh. Please continue to give. The money has been already transferred to the AMAA.
Those who watched the funeral services to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II at both Westminster and Windsor were moved by the content of the services and impressed by the pageantry of the processions. The soldiers, sailors and airmen are all serving men and women, some of them were recalled from active service to take part in the procession.
Our thoughts and prayers are with those undergoing treatment and those feeling sadness at the loss of a loved one.

2022 SUMMER FASHION PARADE
After an enforced (by COVID) break of two years, our annual Fashion Parade is back on the Events Calendar! On Thursday 10 November, from 10:15 am, the usual splendid morning tea will be served in the Church Hall, before Stafford Fashions present their summer range of ladies fashions.
This year, we will be donating some of the proceeds to The Smith Family who do a marvellous job funding the education of children from disadvantaged homes. An Entry Donation of $10 per person will still apply, this being our Church’s contribution to containing inflation! Tell all your friends…invite them along. The more, the merrier. We have A4 size posters available for promoting the event, so please contact Jan (mob: 0445 741 414) if you know of any business or institution prepared to display it.
STAMP NEWS
We have received a note of thanks from the Stamp Committee for the wonderful collection of stamps and first day covers recently donated by Patrick Bridger. Stamp sales to date for 2022 are $28,000 so cutting off those rare stamps and donating old collections are valuable. Please continue to save stamps and give them to Virginia or Frank.
WOOL AND FABRIC DE-STASH
Between now and 31 December we are offering the opportunity to move on anything from your craft stash that is in excess to your needs. These offerings will be donated to those who knit squares at Lane Cove Library and other groups who are seeking ‘craft’ supplies.
Please leave your donations in the box marked Wool/Fabrics on the stage in the Hall.

VALE Pauline Reed

Our thoughts and prayers are with Joanna and Nick, children of Pauline Reed, and their families, as they grieve the loss of their beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother at the age of 94.
Pauline’s deep love and care for her family, her friends and her community were remembered lovingly by her family as they spoke of her very full and well-lived life and especially her zest for life.
Rest in peace Pauline and thank you for your faithful membership of St. Andrew’s of over 60 years.
