CALL TO WORSHIP
Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name; make known among the nations what He has done.
Sing to Him, sing praise to Him; tell of all His wonderful acts.
Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always.
Remember the wonders He has done, miracles, and the judgements He pronounced. (Psalm 105:1-5)
We give thanks to the Lord and call His name. We make known among the nations what He has done.
We sing praises to Him and tell of all His wonderful deeds. We give glory to His name and our hearts rejoice as we seek His face and look at His strength and mighty deeds, remembering all His miracles.
HYMN: 133 “O, Worship the King All-Glorious Above”
RESPONSIVE READING
We give thanks to You, O Lord, with our whole heart.
We will glorify Your name for ever.
Lord, Your Kingdom as a Mustard Seed grows through small devotions.
Take from us our inflated pride that we may regard with awe and wonder the small signs of its birth . . . .
Grow Your Church into a place where all may find a spiritual home.
Lord, Your Kingdom like yeast in dough permeates through the entire world. Inspire men and women to make a difference through their political service . . . .
Pour out Your transforming love.
Lord, Your Kingdom like treasure in a field excites our hearts at its discovery. Give us grace to share the blessings received, so advancing their value and worth for all . . . .
Your gifts enrich us beyond measure.
Lord, Your Kingdom, like a pearl of great price, is our true heart’s desire. Fill the hearts of all who suffer with this delight in Your goodness . . . .
We will sing Your praises and glory in Your name, O Lord.
Lord, Your Kingdom is like a net hauling in a great catch.
Bring us and all who have died into the safety of Your eternity . . . .
At the end may Your holy angels lead us to paradise.
PRAYER – Seeking the Lord
O gracious and holy God, give us diligence to seek You, wisdom to perceive You, and patience to wait for You.
Grant us, O God, a mind to meditate on You; eyes to behold You; ears to listen for Your word; a heart to love You; and a life to proclaim You; through the power of the Spirit of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
(St. Benedict 480-543)
PRAISING GOD
Gracious God, we humbly thank You for all Your gifts so freely given to us, for life and health and safety, for power to work, leisure to rest, and for all that is beautiful in creation and human life. But, above all, we praise You for our Saviour, Jesus Christ, for His death and resurrection, for the gift of Your Spirit, and for the hope of sharing in Your glory. Fill our hearts with joy and peace in believing; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
HYMN: 100 “All creatures of Our God and King”
PRAYING TO GOD
Although we are the people of God, Scripture reminds us that we still sin. We need to confess our failures, knowing that the Lord Jesus died for us and intercedes for us with the Father.
Let us draw near to God, who freely forgives through His infinite goodness and mercy, and pray to Him with sincerity and confidence.
Heavenly Father, we praise You for adopting us as Your children and making us heir of eternal life. In Your mercy You have washed us from our sins and made us clean in Your sight. Yet we still fail to love You and serve You as we should. Forgive us our sins and renew us by Your grace, that we may continue to grow as members of Christ, in whom alone is our salvation. Amen.
God is slow to anger and full of compassion. He forgives all who humbly repent and turn to His Son Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, in whom there is no condemnation. Amen.
SONG: “Lead Me Lord”
