CALL TO WORSHIP

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs.

Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture.

Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.

For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.      Psalm 100

HYMN:       768       “Praise God, From Whom All Blessings Flow

A PRAYER OF PRAISE

Almighty God, who deserves to be praised by all life that You have created, we bow in humility before You, realizing the greatness of Your power in the vast universe, and knowing of your concern for each one of us. Grant that we may praise Your name, not in words alone, but also in our deeds of love and mercy, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen!

A PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING

Almighty God, creator and redeemer, we praise You for Your work of creation; for the beauty of the world around us and for every gift we enjoy. We bless You for creating us to know You, love You and obey You. Most of all we thank You for Your amazing love in sending Your Son to restore Your world, to die for us and to give us life in all its fullness. Accept, O God, our praise and thanksgiving through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!

HYMN:       333       “All Glory, Praise and Honour”  (Vrs. 1, 2 & 5)

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Lord, we have come to see that our lives fall far short of Your glory.

Have mercy and forgive us.

Lord, You have given Your life for us and poured out Your Spirit, yet we fail to return Your love with all our heart.

Have mercy and forgive us.

Often we are selfish and proud, ignoring You, and neglecting others.

Have mercy and forgive us.

Lord, when we do not truly trust and obey You, we are overwhelmed by self-pity, fear and worry.

Have mercy and forgive us.

In Christ we are given a sure hope and secure love, yet we follow the false hopes and desires of this world.

Have mercy and forgive us.

Father, through the redeeming death of Your Son on the cross, by Your Spirit and through Your word, transform and renew us to follow You.

Have mercy and forgive us.

ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS

The good news in Christ is that when we face ourselves and God with the awareness of our need, we are given grace to grow, and courage to carry on the journey.

Friends, believe the good news of the gospel.

In Jesus Christ we are forgiven!

The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting. May the God of mercy, who forgives us all our sins, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen!

Blessed be God forever.

Blessed are You. Lord, God of all creation. Through Your goodness we have this cup to offer, fruit of the vine and work of human hands. It will become for us our spiritual drink.

Blessed be God forever.
