CALL TO WORSHIP

O come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into His presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to Him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods”.                                                                                                    Psalm 95:1-3

HYMN:     100     “All Creatures of Our God and King” (1, 2, 3 & 7)

INVOCATION

Creator God, our faces and hearts face east as we greet the new day. We lift our face to the light, which You have sent to warm us. We are reminded of Your power because You set the sun in the sky as well as the moon and the stars. We are thankful for Your mercy as we are given another day of life. Each day is a new beginning and is full of new opportunities. Be with us as we seek Your face and gather to worship You. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen!

A PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING

Lord, we thank You for the splendour with which You have filled all creation; for the immensity and extent of the universe, which defies our understanding; and for the beauty of our world, which is greater than our words to describe it.

We praise You for the place You have given us in Your creation. Amen!

HYMN:       675       “Lord, the Light of Your Love is Shining”

PRAYER FOR FORGIVENESS

Almighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, maker of all things and judge of all men. We acknowledge and bewail our manifold sins and wickedness, which we, from time to time, most grievously have committed, by thought, word and deed, against Your Divine Majesty, provoking most justly Your wrath and indignation against us. We do earnestly repent and are heartily sorry for these our misdoings; the remembrance of them is grievous unto us; the burden of them is intolerable. Have mercy upon us, have mercy upon us, most merciful Father; for Your Son our Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, forgive us all that is past; and grant that we may ever hereafter serve and please You in newness of life, to the honour and glory of Your Name. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!

ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS

Hear then Christ’s word of grace to us:

Your sins are forgiven.

Thanks be to God.

All who are truly sorry for their sins, who sincerely believe in the Lord Jesus as their Saviour, and who desire to live in obedience to Him, are now invited to take with gladness from the table of the Lord.

CONFESSION

Most merciful God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, we confess that we have sinned in thought, word and deed. We have not loved You with our whole heart. We have not loved our neighbour as ourselves.

In your mercy forgive what we have been, help us to amend what we are, and direct what we shall be; that we may do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with You, our God. Amen!

DECLARATION OF FORGIVENESS

May the God of all healing and forgiveness draw us to Himself and cleanse us from all our sins that we may behold the glory of His Son, the Word made flesh, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!

BREAKING THE BREAD

We break this bread and take this cup so that we can share in the life of Christ. God’s gifts for God’s people.

Take, eat, remember and believe that the body of our Lord Jesus Christ was given for a complete remission of all our sins.

Take, drink, remember and believe that the precious blood of our Lord Jesus Christ was shed for a complete remission of all our sins.

PRAYER

Most gracious God, you have made us one with all your people in heaven and on earth.

You have fed us with the bread of life and renewed us for your service.

Now we give ourselves to you and ask that our daily living may be part of the life of your kingdom.

May our love be your love, reaching out into the life of the world; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!
