CALL TO WORSHIP AND PRAYER

Almighty God, boldly we approach Your throne of grace. Joyfully, we come knowing You always welcome us. Humbly, we acknowledge before You and one another our need. Eagerly, we seek Your mercy and grace, which are sufficient for our every need. Grant us open hearts, minds, and lives that we might gratefully receive. We pray in the name of Jesus, our great High Priest. Amen!

HYMN:       216       “Rejoice the Lord is King(Tune 108)

MORNING PRAYER

Almighty God, You know our hearts and nothing can be hidden from You. By Your Holy Spirit, cleanse our thoughts and desires, so that we may truly love You and bring honour to Your name, through Christ our Lord. Amen!

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

We cannot live our lives in silence or hide away our guilty feelings.

Silence and secrecy hold the guilt in. We waste away with groaning.

We are invited to bring ourselves out into the open space of God’s loving kindness; to seek the light of God’s forgiveness so that we might be free of the enclosure of regret and shame and know joy.

Merciful God, draw near to us in the grace of Jesus Christ as we confess those things that have turned us from You.

Let us find abiding acceptance and renewed hope in our ability to live as people freed by love.

We pray that You will save us, Lord, in the time of trial – those times when we are ready to turn from the way of love.

In all that we do and all that we are, we remember Your claim upon us. Your love surrounds us, and we are free indeed. Amen!

WORDS OF ASSURANCE

The rush of mighty waters, waves of guilt and shame, can no longer reach us, because God is our shelter and hope. We are freed by the love of God and in the gift of grace in Jesus Christ to live open, joyful lives. So, I can declare before you today that our sins are forgiven.

Thanks be to God.

COMMUNION

HYMN:       538       “Feed Us Now, Bread of Life

PRAYER OF PREPARATION

Gracious Lord, we are not worthy to eat the crumbs from under Your table, but Your love compels us to draw near. We come with repentance and faith to express our need for all the benefits of Your Son’s death for us. Renew us in Your service and help us to love one another as members of the body of our Lord Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen!

THANKSGIVING

We thank You, our Father, that in Your love and mercy You gave Your only Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our salvation. By this offering of Himself once and for all time Jesus made a full, perfect and sufficient sacrifice for the sins of the whole world and commanded us to continue a remembrance of His precious death until His coming again.

Hear us, merciful Father, and grant us that we who receive these gifts of Your creation, this bread and this wine, according to our Saviour’s command, in remembrance of His suffering and death, may be partakers of His body and blood. Amen!

On the night before He died, Jesus took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it, then gave it to His disciples, saying: ‘Take and eat. This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me’.

After the meal, He took the cup, and again giving thanks, He gave it to His disciples saying: ‘Drink from this, all of you. This is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me’.

Come let us eat and drink in remembrance that Christ died for us, and feed on Him in our hearts by faith with thanksgiving.

Take and eat this, in remembrance that Christ died for you, and feed on Him in your heart by faith, with thanksgiving. Amen!

Drink this, in remembrance that Christ’s blood was shed for you, and be thankful. Amen!

PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION

Loving Father, through faith in Your Son and His saving death, our sins are forgiven, and we share in the life of His body. With gratitude for all Your mercies, we offer ourselves to You as a living sacrifice, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Send us out in the power of Your Spirit to live and work to Your praise and glory. Amen!

HYMN:       531       “Sent Forth by God’s Blessing

BENEDICTION

To Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy, to the only God our Saviour be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and for evermore. Amen!
