CALL TO WORSHIP
King of the Universe, Shepherd of Your people, with thanksgiving we come into Your presence.
Your steadfast love and faithfulness is from generation to generation.
Jesus, ushering in God’s reign of justice and mercy, calling us to care for the least.
Revive in us the vision of Your world in which all are included and cherished.
It is Your kingdom and Your rule that is drawing near.
Reign in us Christ Jesus, now and forever. Amen.
HYMN: 111 “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty”
PRAYER OF ADORATION
O, God whose reason rules the world, who formed the starry heights above, timeless, time’s chain far forth You hurled, unmoved, gave all things power to move. Prevailed on by no outside cause to fashion all reality; ideas of love and mental laws moulded the noble world we see.
Your nature perfect beauty, thus You made the world in tenderness with sighs, sounds to conjure us to love the source of loveliness.
You named the printed elements of earth and water, air and fire, and balanced out their influence that none might lower be or higher.
O Father, give me power to climb and wash in fountains filled with light, weighed down no more things of time, lit by Your shining in the night. The sight of You begins our day, with You its evening we shall spend; You carry us, and lead the way, the journey, and the journey’s end.
(Boethius c. 480 – c. 547)
PRAYER OF INTERCESSION
When I was hungry, you gave me food,
when I was thirsty, you gave me something to drink,
when I was a stranger and alone, you welcomed me,
when I was naked, you clothed me,
when I was ill, you came to my help,
when in prison, you visited me.
Good Shepherd, may we follow You, coming alongside others, as You come alongside us; comforting the grieving, offering friendship to the lonely, reaching out to those in our community and beyond, who are in need of Your loving care and protection.
May Your church protect those who are threatened, welcome the lost, heal those who are sick, share with the needy and love as You have loved us, knowing that all are precious in Your sight. Amen.
CHRISTMAS BOWL – Video Clip
HYMN: 590 “What A Friend We Have In Jesus”
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
O Lord, You who have measured the heights and the earth in the hollow of Your hand, and created six-wing seraphim to cry out to You with an unceasing voice Holy, Holy, Holy, glory to Your name.
Deliver me, from the mouth of the evil one, O Master. Forget my many evil deeds and through the multitude of Your compassions grant me daily forgiveness, for You are blessed unto the ages. Amen.
ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS
The good news in Christ is that when we face ourselves and God with the awareness of our need, we are given grace to grow, and courage to carry on the journey.
Friends, believe the good news of the gospel.
In Jesus Christ we are forgiven! Amen.

THE LORD’S PRAYER
THE INVITATION
Dear friends, the Lord has prepared His table for all who love Him and trust Him alone for their salvation. All who are truly sorry for their sins, who sincerely believe in the Lord Jesus as their Saviour, and who desire to live in obedience to Him, are now invited to take with gladness from the table of the Lord.
BREAKING THE BREAD & SERVING THE BREAD & THE CUP
Christ is the bread of joy, who shares food with sinners.
Let us receive what we are; let us become what we receive.
The body of Christ.
We break this bread and take this cup so that we can share in the life of Christ. God’s gifts for God’s people.
Christ is the cup of life, who revives the faint-hearted.
Take in faith this Holy Sacrament of the body and the blood of Christ in remembrance that He died for you, and feed on Him in your hearts with thanksgiving.
HYMN: 611 “God of Grace and God of Glory” (Regent Square)
THE PEACE
The peace of the Lord be always with you. And also with you.
