CALL TO WORSHIP

Come before the Lord in holy worship.

We come asking that our lives be remade and our priorities reordered.

Open your hearts and God will open your lives to His way.

We are ready Lord. Make known to us Your will.

PRAYER

Gracious God, help us to remember that we must love one another and remember we are all Your children. Remind us, that if we tune our hearts to Jesus’ heart, we will all come together to create a loving and kind world. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

HYMN:       613       “Lord of All Hopefulness

INVOCATION

Into Your presence we come, O God of love and hope. Inspire us with the gift of Your most Holy Spirit as we gather here today. Empower us with a sense of anticipation as to what it is You will be doing among us in this sacred time and in this sacred place. In the name and the spirit of Christ our Lord we pray. Amen!

A PRAYER OF PRAISE

Glory be to You, O Holy God, You who are love and justice. We praise You for the gifts You have made in creating the world and human beings in Your likeness. We praise You for opening up for us a new way of life in Jesus Christ. We praise You for calling us, through the Holy Spirit, to follow Jesus Christ and to seek to bring justice for all. Amen!

HYMN:       215       “You Servants of God

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Merciful God, our maker and our judge, we have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed: we have not loved You with our whole heart, we have not loved our neighbour as ourselves; we repent and are sorry for all our sins.

Father forgive us, strengthen us to love and obey You in newness of life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!

ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS

Hear then Christ’s word of grace to us: “Your sins are forgiven.”

Thanks be to God.

PRAYERS

O God, creator and preserver of all mankind: we humbly pray for all sorts and condition of men, that You would be pleased to make Your way known to them, Your saving power among all nations.

Especially we pray for the welfare of Your global church, that it may be guided and governed by Your good Spirit, so that all who profess and call themselves Christians may be led into the way of truth and hold the faith in unity of spirit, in the bond of peace, and in righteousness of life.

We commend to Your fatherly goodness all who are in any way afflicted or distressed, that it may please You to comfort and relieve them according to their needs, giving them patience in their sufferings, and a happy issue out of all their afflictions. All this we ask for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Almighty God, You have promised to hear the petitions of those who ask in Your Son’s name: mercifully accept us who have made our prayers to You; and grant us those things which we have asked in faith according to Your will; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!

THE LORD’S PRAYER

THE APOSTLES’ CREED   (Standing)

I believe in God, the Father almighty,

     creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord,

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

     born of the Virgin Mary,

     suffered under Pontius Pilate,

     was crucified, died, and was buried;

     he descended to the dead.

     On the third day he rose again;

     he ascended into heaven,

he is seated at the right hand of the Father,

and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

     the holy catholic Church,

     the communion of saints,

     the forgiveness of sins,

     the resurrection of the body,

     and the life everlasting. Amen!

May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip us with everything good for doing His will, and may He work in us what is pleasing to Him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever.
