CALL TO WORSHIP
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
His faithful loves endures forever!
The stone rejected by the builders has now become the cornerstone.
This is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous to see!
This is the day the Lord has made!
We will rejoice and be glad in it! (Based on Psalm 118)
Sing a new song to the Lord,
for He has done wonderful deeds!
He has won a mighty victory by His power and holiness.
The whole earth has seen the salvation of our God! (Based on Psalm 98)
LIGHTING OF THE EASTER CANDLE
The light of Christ rises in glory, overcoming on this most holy night the darkness of sin and death.

Christ is risen!
He is risen indeed!
Lift up your hearts!
We will lift them up unto the Lord.
We praise You, O Lord, for bringing from the dead our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and using His death upon the cross to bring about our redemption.
Praise be to Your holy name.
We thank You that through His resurrection You have given us the faith to believe that every good which seems to be overcome by evil, and every love which seems to be buried in darkness and death, shall rise again to life immortal.
Armed with that faith, we pray ardently for those whose lives are overshadowed by despair on this Easter Sunday.
We pray for those who are battling life-threatening illnesses, that they may renew their hope through Christ’s resurrection.
We pray for those who are dragged down by the weight of despair, that they may renew their hope through Christ’s resurrection.
May our celebration of Easter, renew our faith in the Risen Lord.
Blessed be the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,

Eternal giver of life and light, this holy morning shines with the radiance of the risen Christ. Renew Your Church with the Spirit given to us in baptism, that we may worship You in sincerity and truth, and shine as a light in the world; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is alive and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen!
SERVICE OF THE WORD
Friends in Christ, let us listen attentively to the word of God, recalling God’s saving deeds throughout history and how, in the fullness of time, God’s Word became flesh and dwelt among us: Christ, our Redeemer!
