CALL TO WORSHIP

Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise, in the city of our God, His holy mountain.

Beautiful in its loftiness, the joy of the whole earth, like the heights of Zaphonis Mount Zion, the city of the Great King.

God is in her citadels; He has shown Himself to be her fortress.

Within Your temple, O God, we meditate on Your unfailing love.

Like Your name, O God, Your praise reaches to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is filled with righteousness.

For this God is our God for ever and ever; He will be our guide even to the end.     (Psalm48:1-3 9-10, 14,)

PRAYER

O God, our Father, who with Your Son and the leaders of the past formed the church, that man might receive this heritage of faith and worship in each generation: grant that we may be aware of our responsibility to You and our fellow Christians; so, guide us that we give of ourselves in service through Christ our Lord. Amen!

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Lord, we have come to see that our lives fall far short of Your glory.

Have mercy and forgive us.

Lord, You have given Your life for us and poured out Your Spirit, yet we fail to return Your love with all our heart.

Have mercy and forgive us.

Too often we are selfish and proud, ignoring You, Lord and neglecting others.

Have mercy and forgive us.

Lord, when we do not truly trust and obey You, we are overwhelmed by self-pity, fear and worry.

Have mercy and forgive us.

In Christ we are given a sure hope and secure love, yet we follow the false hopes and desires of this world.

Have mercy and forgive us.

Father, through the redeeming death of Your Son on the cross, by Your Spirit and through Your word, transform and renew us to follow You with joy.

All this we ask, confident in Your unchanging faithfulness. Amen.

HYMN:       198       “I Greet Thee, Who  My Sure Redeemer Art

INTERCESSION

Lord our Father, almighty and everlasting God, we thank You for bringing us safely to this day: keep us by Your mighty power, and grant that today we fall into no sin, neither run into any kind of danger, but lead and govern us in all things, that we may always do what is righteous in Your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. Amen.

ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS

The good news in Christ is that when we face ourselves and God with the awareness of our need, we are given grace to grow, and courage to carry on the journey. Friends, believe the good news of the gospel.

THE LORD’S SUPPER

Blessed are You, Lord, God of all creation. Through Your goodness we have this bread to offer which earth has given and human hands have made. It will become for us the bread of life.

Blessed be God forever.

Blessed are You. Lord, God of all creation. Through Your goodness we have this cup to offer, fruit of the vine and work of human hands. It will become for us our spiritual drink.

Blessed be God forever.

Eternal God, let Your Spirit come upon Your holy people, and may He sanctify these gifts of bread and wine.

As we share these holy things, may we be nourished and grow in grace to Your honour and glory, through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Merciful God, we thank You for these gifts of Your creation and we pray that we, who eat and drink them in remembrance of Christ’s passion and death, may be partakers of His body and His blood. Amen!

Holy God, with this bread and with this cup, we do as our Saviour has commanded; we celebrate the redemption he has won for us.

For as often as we eat this bread and drink from this cup we proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.

Receive our praise, God almighty, through Jesus Christ our Lord, with whom and in whom by the power of the Holy Spirit, we worship You in songs of never-ending praise.

COMMUNION

The bread we break is a sharing of the body of Christ.

The cup we take is sharing in the blood of Christ.

Take in faith this Holy Sacrament of the body and the blood of Christ in remembrance that He died for you, and feed on Him in your hearts with thanksgiving.

DISMISSAL

We thank You our God that You have fed us with this sacrament, united us with Christ, and given us a foretaste of the heavenly banquet prepared for all humanity.

Loving God, we offer ourselves to You as a living sacrifice through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Send us out in the power of the Holy Spirit to live and work to Your praise and glory. Amen.

THE LORD’S PRAYER

THE PEACE AND THE BLESSING

May God Himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through.

May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
