CALL TO WORSHIP

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.

Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs.

Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture.

Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.

For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations. Amen.                                                                                                          Psalm 100

HYMN:       449       “Stand Up and Bless the Lord

PRAYER OF ADORATION AND PRAISE

Father, You are greater than anything we can imagine, more wonderful than our deepest joy and more powerful than anything we have known. Yours is the authority that always intended to create.

Yours is the sovereignty that holds all things in the palm of Your hand. Yours is the love that continually seeks to bring everyone, everywhere into the joy of perfect fellowship with You.

Father, we adore You; we have come to lay our lives before You as we declare we love You, our God. We praise You for the demonstration of Your authority, sovereignty, and love in the life, death, and resurrection of Your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.                                                (David Clowes)

HYMN:       627       “Praise and Thanksgiving

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer.

From the ends of the earth I call to You, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

For You have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe.

I long to dwell in Your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of Your wings.

For You have heard my vows, O God; You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name. Amen.                                                                                                       Psalm 61:1-5

ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS

The good news in Christ is that when we face ourselves and God with the awareness of our need, we are given grace to grow, and courage to carry on the journey.

HYMN:          “Lord, the Light of Your Love Is Shining

HYMN:             “O Give Us Homes, Built Firm Upon the Saviour

HYMN:       519       “And Now O Father, Mindful of the Love

THE LORD’S SUPPER

Blessed are You, Lord, God of all creation. Through Your goodness we have this bread to offer which earth has given and human hands have made. It will become for us the bread of life.

Blessed be God forever.

Blessed are You Lord, God of all creation. Through Your goodness we have this cup to offer, fruit of the vine and work of human hands. It will become for us our spiritual drink.

Blessed be God forever.

INVOCATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Eternal God, let Your Spirit come upon Your holy people, and may He sanctify these gifts of bread and wine.

As we share these holy things, may we be nourished and grow in grace to Your honour and glory, through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

THE INSTITUTION OF THE LORD’S SUPPER

Merciful God, we thank You for these gifts of Your creation and we pray that we, who eat and drink them in remembrance of Christ’s passion and death, may be partakers of His body and His blood.

On the night of His betrayal, He took bread and when He had given thanks He gave it to His disciples, saying: “Take, eat. This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me”.

After supper He took the cup and again giving thanks He gave it to His disciples, saying: “Drink from this all of you. This is the blood of the new covenant which is shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sins. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me”.

MEMORIAL PRAYER

Holy God, with this bread and with this cup, we do as our Saviour has commanded; we celebrate the redemption He has won for us.

For as often as we eat this bread and drink from this cup, we proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.

Receive our praise, God almighty, through Jesus Christ our Lord, with whom and in whom by the power of the Holy Spirit, we worship You in songs of never-ending praise:

Blessing, honour, glory and power are Yours forever and ever. Amen.

BREAKING THE BREAD

The bread we break is a sharing of the body of Christ.

The cup we take is sharing in the blood of Christ.

INVITATION

Take in faith this Holy Sacrament of the body and the blood of Christ in remembrance that He died for You, and feed on Him in your hearts with thanksgiving.

DISMISSAL

We thank You our God that You have fed us with this sacrament, united us with Christ, and given us a foretaste of the heavenly banquet prepared for all humanity.

Loving God, we offer ourselves to You as a living sacrifice through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Send us out in the power of the Holy Spirit to live and work to Your praise and glory. Amen.

HYMN:       530       “Now Let Us From This Table Rise”

THE LORD’S PRAYER

THE BLESSING

To Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy, to the only God our Saviour be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and for evermore. Amen!             (Jude. 24-25)
