CALL TO WORSHIP

The Earth and all it contains is the love of God in tangible form, let us give thanks today and all days!

Praise the Lord!

This day is a gift from the God of gifts.

Praise the Lord!

This moment is a holy moment, let us treasure it.

Praise the Lord!

PRAYER OF PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING

We thank You and praise You God.

You are the God from whom all blessings flow.

Every moment we experience grace upon grace.

This is the world You make for us; this is the world You hold out to us; this is the world into which You continually and generously welcome us in every moment.

The Psalm says that You are the God who executes justice for the oppressed; gives food to the hungry; opens the eyes of the blind; lifts up those who are bowed down; watches over strangers; upholds the orphan and the widow.

You are the God of grace and we give you our thanks. Amen!

HYMN:       745       “Seek Ye First

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

God, Your Psalm says, ‘unless the Lord builds the house…’

We know that You build the world and our lives, but we live so often as if it is our responsibility to build and that if we don’t, we won’t have what we need and want.

We so often don’t trust that You have built our world.

We live as if Your son Jesus never told us that You care for us as You do the birds of the air and the lilies of the field.

O, we of little faith.

Forgive us God of infinite goodness and grace.

Forgive us for not living in the truth of the abundant love that You show us in every moment in the world we inhabit.

Forgive us for not living in joy, we pray!

WORDS OF ASSURANCE

Friends, be at peace because our God is a God of infinite love, grace and patience. God waits for us to open ourselves to joy.

We can do that, now and in every moment, because we are forgiven people! We live in grace and we are loved! Amen!
