With the recent easing of Covid Restrictions, our normal activities have resumed.

Pizza and Movie Evenings

Once per month, we gather at 6:30pm on a Tuesday evening in the War Memorial Hall, to enjoy an evening of pizzas and a classic movie. Donation of $10 per person – bring your own drinks. Everyone is welcome, whether or not you are a member of the church.

Tuesday 1 March – “Song for Marion”

Tuesday 5 April – “Woman in Gold”. A biographical drama on the life of Californian Maria Altmann, who fought for over a decade to reclaim a portrait of her aunt, stolen by Nazis during WWII. Starring Helen Mirren and Ryan Reynolds.

Tuesday 3 May – “Singing’ in the Rain” (G) (1952). An American classic, a musical romantic comedy directed and choreographed by Gene Kelly and Stanley Donan, starring Gene Kelly, Donald O’Connor and Debbie Reynolds (99 mins).

Tuesday 7 June – “Breathe” (M) (2017). An inspirational, biographical drama about polio and the life of Robin Cavendish. Starring Andrew Garfield, Claire Foy, and Hugh Bonneville (119 mins)

Lane Cove Music

Lane Cove Music grew out of St Andrews Uniting Church, Longueville, and is now operating as a music club affiliated with Federated Music Clubs of Australia ( www.fmca.org.au ), but is still strongly supported by the St Andrews UC Longueville membership. Lane Cove Music holds six concerts each year, in the St Andrews LCM Anglican church, Rosenthal Ave., Lane Cove (behind the Lane Cove Post Office), on Tuesday evenings from 7:30pm-9:30pm. Admission in this ‘shortened 2021 concert season’ is $60 per person annual subscription ($40 for Pensioner receiving benefits), or $25 per person for each individual concert. Tickets can be purchased via ‘try booking.com’ on our website www.lanecovemusic.org.au, from June 1 onwards.

March 15 – Music for Love and Laughter, with John Martin (piano) and Victoria Jacano-Gilmovich (violin)

Works from Brahms, Chopin, de Falls, Debussy, Kats-Chermin, Noel Coward, along with ragtime and   jazz-era gems.

May 10 – Andrew Rumsey and Thomas Azouri

Join Andrew (piano) and Thomas (clarinet) for a night of musical delight and humorous anecdotes

June 21 – Heavenly Flute & Harp

Virtuosic performers, Janet Webb (flute) and Louise Johnson (harp), former Principals of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, share and exciting programme of flute and harp music from Medieval to Gershwin and beyond.

August 9 – Wollenic Quintet

A vibrant, creative and engaging ensemble, formed in 2020. They are passionate about performing classical repertoire, as well as Australian compositions and lesser known works for wind quintet.

October 11 – Alf & Pearl Pollard Memorial Instrumental Awards for Performing Excellence

Ten of the most outstanding solo instrumentalists between ages 12 and 15 will be selected from the 2022 Sydney Eisteddfod for these awards.

29 November – aChoired Voices

aChoired Voices is a mixed voice community choir celebrating the joy of song in a wide range of musical styles, from traditional to contemporary Western European choral music, contemporary Australian works, gospel, folk and world music. Their Musical Director is Ansa Fourie.

Lane Cove Creative Photography

We host Lane Cove Creative Photography who meet at our Church Hall every second Thursday.  Established over 50 years ago, their vision is to encourage appreciation of photography as art. They offer assistance and instruction to photographers at all levels.
