Pizza and Movie Evenings
Once per month, we gather at 6:30pm on a Tuesday evening in the War Memorial Hall, to enjoy an evening of pizzas and a classic movie. Donation of $15 per person – bring your own drinks. Everyone is welcome, whether or not you are a member of the church.
Program for 2025;
Tuesday 4 February – Lion (2016) – An Australian biographical drama telling the true story of a young Indian boy, separated from his family in India, adopted by Australian parents in Tasmania, who sets out to find his birth parents 25 years later. Starring Dev Patel, David Wenham and Nicole Kidman.
Tuesday 4 March: “Ladies in Lavender” (2004) – British drama set in a Cornish Village in the 1930’s, where a young man is washed ashore after a violent storm, and rescued by two ladies. Stars Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Natasha McElhone, David Warner and Miriam Margolyes.
Tuesday 1 April: “The Promise”(2016) – An historical fiction film that conveys a multi-perspective history of the Armenian Genocide in its early stages from 1915-1916. The film shares the story of Ottoman Armenian people and the brave men and women who risked their lives to help save them from complete annihilation.
Tuesday 1 July: “Fisherman’s Friends” – Set in the beautiful Cornish town of Port Isaac where Doc Martin was filmed, a comedy-drama based on a true story.
Tuesday 5 August: “The Way, My Way” (2024) (98 mins) – Australian drama telling the story of one man’s journey doing the 800km Camino de Santiago ‘one step at a time’ starring Chris Hayward.
Tuesday 2 September: “Green Book” (2018)(130mins) – Biographical comedy-drama of the true story of the 1962 tour of the deep south by African-American pianist Don Shirley and Shirley’s driver and body-guard. Winner of the Academy award for Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor. Starring Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali.
Tuesday 7 October: “Amélie”(2001) (123mins) – A whimsical romantic comedy depicting contemporary Parisian life, set in Montmartre. It tells the story of Amélie Poulain, played by Audrey Tautou, a shy and quirky waitress who decides to change the lives of those around her for the better while dealing with her own isolation.
Tuesday 4 November: “The Man who shot Liberty Valance” – an iconic Western starring John Wayne, James Stewart and Lee Marvin.
Tuesday 2 December: “The Man who sued God” – set in Bermagui, starring Jimmy Connolly and Judy Davis.

Lane Cove Music
Lane Cove Music grew out of St Andrews Uniting Church, Longueville, and is now operating as a music club affiliated with Federated Music Clubs of Australia ( www.fmca.org.au ), but is still strongly supported by the St Andrews UC Longueville membership. Lane Cove Music hold six concerts per year, on Tuesday evenings from 7:30pm – 9:30pm. In 2026, the first concert will be held in the St Andrews LCM Anglican church, Rosenthal Ave., Lane Cove (behind the Lane Cove Post Office), and the remaining concerts for the year will be held at St Andrews Uniting Church, cnr. Christina Ave & Kenneth St., Longueville. Tickets can be purchased via ‘try booking.com’ on our website www.lanecovemusic.org.au.

October 13 – ‘Pollard Memorial Instrumental Awards for Performance Excellence’ to be selected from 10 of the most outstanding solo instrumentalists between ages 12-15 years from the 2026 Sydney Eisteddfod

Lane Cove Creative Photography
We host Lane Cove Creative Photography who meet at our Church Hall every second Thursday. Established over 50 years ago, their vision is to encourage appreciation of photography as art. They offer assistance and instruction to photographers at all levels.
